Join Now—PVCA Membership Is Open!

Back-to-school season is here, and it is time to renew your Ponte Vedra Community Association membership for 2026–27!

PVCA is growing into a more active and connected community organization—one that brings neighbors together, creates opportunities to get involved, and encourages us to show up for one another.

This is an exciting time for PVCA, filled with fresh ideas and new social events, while continuing cherished traditions such as our annual Tree Lighting and Toy Drive, and the Sweetheart Dance.

We have a full Fall ahead, including August and September block parties, new book club and skeet shooting groups, a community chili cook-off, and a Thanksgiving food drive to support local families in need. We also have several more activities and opportunities that will be announced throughout the year.

Whether you attend an event, volunteer, join a social group, or simply stay connected, we want you to be part of what is happening in our community. And we would love to hear your suggestions for additional social events, volunteer opportunities or activities! This is YOUR community association!

Please share this newsletter with your neighbors, and invite friends and neighbors to join PVCA. Visit our updated website and social calendar to see what is coming up throughout the year. We will also begin offering newsletter delivery by text message, making it even easier to stay informed and connected.

Your Input Matters: A1A and Solana Road Survey

The Ponte Vedra Community Association is asking residents to view a brief video and complete a simple two-question survey regarding proposed changes to the intersection of A1A and Solana Road.

This intersection has been one of the most significant sources of traffic congestion in Ponte Vedra Beach for many years, affecting drivers from communities and homeowners’ associations throughout the area.

Survey results will be shared directly with the Florida Department of Transportation.

Please take a few minutes to make your voice heard. Take the survey below. The deadline for submission is Sunday, August 9th.

It's Membership Renewal Time!

Membership renewal season is here, and we're excited for another year of bringing neighbors together through the Ponte Vedra Community Association!

The PVCA exists because of the support of neighbors like you. Your membership helps us continue hosting community events, sharing neighborhood news, advocating on issues that matter to Ponte Vedra, and creating opportunities for residents to connect throughout the year.

A special thank you goes to our incredible volunteer Block Captains, who help make our membership drive a success by connecting with neighbors throughout the community. We truly appreciate the time and energy they dedicate each year.

When your Block Captain reaches out, we hope you'll renew your membership and encourage your friends and neighbors to join as well. The more members we have, the stronger our voice and the more opportunities we have to bring our community together.

Renewing is easy!  Visit pontevedraca.org to renew online.

Our Block Captains are your neighbors who have volunteered their time to help keep our community connected. If you see them around the neighborhood, please take a moment to thank them for their dedication and willingness to serve. Their efforts make a real difference and help make Ponte Vedra Beach such a wonderful place to call home.

Thank you for your continued support of the Ponte Vedra Community Association. We look forward to another great year together!

Events Worth Noting

August & September Block Parties

We’re excited to bring neighbors together with a series of block parties during the back-to-school season!

Volunteer hosts will welcome small groups of nearby neighbors for casual, family-friendly gatherings - a great opportunity to reconnect, meet someone new, and help kick off our annual PVCA membership drive.

Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered to host! If you would be willing to host or help organize a gathering for your immediate neighbors, please contact Lori Wells at loripvb@yahoo.com for more information.

Watch for a separate invitation with the date, time, and location of the block party in your area. We hope you’ll join us!

Book Club Kickoff

Join us for the first gathering of the PVCA Book Club on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. September's newsletter will have details including location and a link to RSVP.

Pick up a copy of Bubble in the Sun: The Florida Boom of the 1920's and how it brought on the Great Depression and start reading now! We look forward to a casual afternoon of conversation, refreshments, and lively discussion with neighbors.

More details will be shared soon. We hope you’ll join us!

Chili Cook-Off — Save the Date!

Save the date for our first PVCA Chili Cook-Off on Friday, October 16, from 6:00–9:00 p.m.

Gather your family or friends, pull out your favorite chili recipe, and get ready for a fun evening with neighbors! Chili competitors will be asked to register in advance, with registration opening in early October.

Not entering the competition? Please bring a favorite side dish, appetizer, cornbread, or dessert to share.

Everyone will have the opportunity to taste the entries and vote for the Community Choice Award for Best Chili.

More details and registration information will be coming soon. We hope you’ll join us!

Take your Best Shot!

Watch for details about a Skeet Shooting outing in November. Whether you're an experienced shooter or interested in trying something new, this promises to be a fun day of friendly competition and camaraderie. More details will be announced soon.

Celebrate the Season

The date is set for our annual and much-anticipated Tree Lighting and Toy Drive. Mark your calendar for Sunday, December 6, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

PVCA Financial Picture Looking Up!

As reported at the Annual Meeting in May, the PVCA ended the last fiscal year with a surplus for the year and a solid balance sheet. This follows annual deficits for most of the past few years. These results come thanks to a variety of measures, including reduced costs for the PVCA’s signature events (the Tree Lighting in December and the Sweetheart Dance in February) and modest increases in revenue from other sources. The Board particularly appreciates the cooperation of the PV Inn and Club in helping manage these costs while still hosting outstanding events.

The Board has approved two changes for the current year. First, PVCA is launching its inaugural sponsorship program giving select local businesses a way to reach members through PVCA materials while providing a new revenue stream to support our activities. Second, the Board has approved a supplemental fee for the Sweetheart Dance of $25 per person, in recognition that even after cost reductions the Dance runs well above what membership dues alone can cover.

Together, these steps let us hold annual dues at their current level while funding more community activities — including the Fourth of July Parade — and continued investment in the events and communications that make PVCA worth belonging to!
